Madeleine Northey

Textile Innovator

Sustainable Materials Consultant

Textile Artist

A native of Ottawa, Canada, Madeleine Northey holds an Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking, ceramics and art history at the Nova Scotia College of Craft and Design University. These studies fostered a deep interest in craft and fueled her passion for embroidery and pattern design.

While completing the Bachelor of Textile Design program at RMIT, Madeleine refined her skills in sustainability research and incorporated it into work which envisions future textiles. Her focus includes embellishment and 3D forms which experiment with texture, movement, and interactivity. Her inspiration comes from history, travel and Australian flora and fauna, particularly deep sea.
